The Acting Space - Acting Classes in North London

Welcome

Monday 20th February 2017

Welcome to the very first blog from The Acting Space!

We thought it was about time that we put all our thoughts, hints, tips and observations about acting and confidence building onto a platform for you to read and enjoy. But to begin with, we wanted to tell you about why we started The Acting Space in the first place.

So, let’s take you back to a cold, miserable day in December 2014...

We were stuck in Olivia’s car on the M11 on the way back from teaching a children’s drama class, discussing the benefits drama has had on the children we teach. The growth in their confidence, the ability to socialise, meet new people and strike up and maintain conversations.

We both have first-hand experience of how acting can help build confidence, Olivia used to actually become ill as a child when asked to public speak, not a nice image, I know. Then she found drama and the rest, as they say, is history. We were talking about the many adults we know that could benefit from acting training. Not necessarily to head for the West End but to help with day to day things; big presentations at work, sales, job interviews, socialising with new people, the list is endless.

“Isn’t it a shame no one offers adult beginners acting classes?”

That is when it hit us… Why don’t we set up a company that offers just that? The Acting Space was born and we have never looked back.

We both have a passion for what we do, whether it be improvisation, Shakespeare or the rather hilarious playground games that we include in our lessons. We love seeing our students develop and grow every week. We love sharing our knowledge and helping people to apply new techniques and skills to their work.

Anyone is welcome to our classes, as we believe that you are never too old to learn a new skill and do something that perhaps you have always dreamed of but never had the confidence or time to take up.

Why don’t you pop along and have a free trial class? Everyone is welcome!

It’s bye from us for now. Keep an eye out for our next post… we hope you enjoy reading our blogs as much as we enjoy writing them!
